CAPT Larry Dean Silvey, USN (Ret.)

20 January, 2015. CAPT Larry Dean Silvey, USN, Ret.  Born on February 24, 1946 to Lawrence and Yvonne Silvey in Amarillo, TX. After graduating from West Texas State University in 1968, he was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy. Larry retired from the U.S. Navy as a Captain in the Intelligence Community after a career of 24 years. He worked as CIO for several international firms in Houston, TX for over 28 years. More recently he was owner of Pyramid Pallets in Paris, TX. He was active in the Volunteer Firefighters of Humble/Atascocita, the United Methodist Men, Rotary Club of Paris and supported a variety of military organizations. Larry was survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Denise Silvey, his mother Fulvia Yvonne Silvey, daughter Dana Silvey Ronderos, son-in-law Jaime Ronderos, daughter Lori Silvey Gowin, son-in-law Brian Gowin, and four grandchildren, Sylvie Gowin, Claire Gowin, Adam Ronderos and Olivia Ronderos. The family requests donations to Cal Farley’s Boys and Girls Ranch of Amarillo at calfarley.org , or the church of your choice.
