Captain (Ret) Robert B. Vosilus, 81, Passes Away 

Captain (Ret) Robert B. Vosilus, 81, of Pinehurst, made his final deployment on Tuesday, 5 December 2023, after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons. Bob was an active member of NIP as a committee member of the Naval Intelligence Foundation (NIF) in the late 90s/early 2000s.

Born in Norwalk, Connecticut on 11 October 1942, he was the son of the late Vitot and Muriel Dibble Vosilus. In his sophomore year at the University of California, Berkeley, Bob was awarded a Naval ROTC scholarship and was commissioned as an ensign upon graduation. His duty stations included Vietnam and both the Sixth and Seventh Fleet flag ships among others. 

While stationed in Norfolk, Bob met and later married Diane Caracasis. They were married for 48 wonderful years. In 2002 the couple moved to Pinehurst and eventually settled in Pinewild. Bob enjoyed playing golf and reading, especially books about WW II. Bob was a principled soft-spoken man with a kind heart. 

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother Richard E. Vosilus. Bob is survived by his wife, Diane C. Vosilus, his brother Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) John Vosilus USA, wife Terry, and a bevy of nieces.

Funeral honors for Captain Vosilus will be rendered at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
